My Rainbow Dreams

It was a bright sunny Monday which happened to be my Birthday. I was very happy and excited as the party was really amazing. With all my friends at my place we had a superb party. I went to sleep thanking God for all the gifts and blessings I got. I was fast asleep when I heard someone calling my name. Fatima… Come here! I opened my eyes and saw my new wardrobe was calling me. I opened it hesitantly and there were no clothes, no racks nothing. In-fact there was a huge corridor inside with seven colourful doors.

I went to the Red one and opened it. Woo-hoo! Lots of gifts, bouquets, teddies and balloons. All having tags with my name on it. So much love from my friends on my birthday.

Tuesday was a usual day at school not so exciting. I played with my sister and in dinner I had carrot cake and tangy orange juice. It was yummy! I read my favourite book and went to sleep. I saw myself in the same corridor inside my wardrobe with colourful doors. This time I opened the Orange door. Behind the door lay a huge orange. It was almost the size of our living room and it had lots of taps on it. The room was filled with shiny glasses of all shapes and sizes. I took one tall glass with shiny straw and filled it with some fresh juice from the huge orange. It was so tasty that I drank 8 glasses.

Wednesday was kind of boring. I got a lot of homework. I could not go out to play with friends. Tired and bored I slept on study table. The corridor appeared again and I decided to open the yellow door. As soon as I opened the door a gush of smiley balls swept me out. I got up and went inside. It was an amazing ball pool with smiley balls big and small. I jumped and dived amongst the balls. I juggled and threw them as far as I could. It was fun!

Thursday came with an exciting field trip to Rani-Baug zoo. We saw a many animals from hippos to monkeys and even paddling penguins. Mom had cooked paneer makhani my all time favourite which I stuffed till I could not eat anymore. I played with my younger sister and chased her like a Lion chases a deer. I slept and in no time entered the corridor in my wardrobe to open the green door. As the door opened I heard a lion roaring. Scared, I slammed it heavily to shut. But as you know I am after all a curious cat. I opened it slowly and landed in a huge forest no smaller than an African jungle. Suddenly a herd of cute dotted deer passed by me and to my surprise I could understand every bit of what they were talking about. I felt gifted. I could understand all that animal language?

Friday was last day of school and it was obvious that Monday after a week’s vacation could come up with an E.V.S test on chapter Water Kingdom. I sat down to study all about sea animals. Mom had baked some yummy Blue berry cup cakes. So deliciously blue they were. After watching Doraemon I went to bed to wake in my favourite place, my wardrobes amazing corridor. Blue door was like glittering and waited for me to be opened. A tunnel? Am I dreaming? Off course I was but a tunnel? I tried to walk but couldn’t. I saw my feet. I was wearing paddled shoes, the ones worn by scooba divers. Soon tunnel filled with water and I started swimming only to get a heart attack. No not really, it was a shark attack! I swam as fast I could and hid behind the coral reef until the sharks went away. There were beautiful goldfish, starfish and oysters with pearls. Bluey! Cool sea.

Saturday we were at the airport to start off for a week- long vacation to Udaipur (my grandmother’s house). We boarded the Indigo flight and soon I lay sleeping in my favourite window seat all buckled up to fly to my corridor. Indigo door was so much like an airplane door. I pushed it open to land in clouds. Birds flying past me and so did a huge hot air balloon. Mom, dad and my little naughty sister? What are they doing in that air balloon? Soon we landed but I still seemed to be in clouds.

Sunday was full of fun. I went with my cousin for a ride to Fateh-sagar Lake to enjoy the lake view and eat sweet-corn bhel. We bought a lot of rainbow coloured balloons and some candyfloss. My cousin insisted on sleeping in her room that night. We had a long chit chat. I told her about the strange series of dreams I had in past few days. She felt amazed! I slept in her cosy bed and soon walked into my dream to open the last unexplored door in the corridor. Violet coloured door opened up and what I saw beautiful. Violet butterflies flying all over. They were quite big than their usual size. I boarded on one and flew towards the sparkling rainbow. I landed on top and someone pushed me and I came sliding down the Rainbow. But there was something unusual about this dream. It got hurt. I opened my eyes and found myself lying next to the bed. Maybe I fell off the bed in sleep. Icouldn’t stop laughing. What an amazing week it was full of rainbow coloured dreams!!
