Krystal, the Witch
Once upon a time, in the magical land of fairies and witches, a baby was born. She was named Krystal, a name that started with a K and ended with an L.
When Krystal turned fifteen, she began to wonder whether she was a fairy or a witch. When she looked at herself in the mirror, she was shocked to discover that she was a witch! Her mum had always told her that everyone in their family was a fairy. Krystal didn’t want to be the odd one out, so she drew over her mark, making it look like a fairy’s mark, and pretended to be one.
After breakfast, Krystal went to her room. As soon as she opened the door, she found lots of potions, a giant, creepy pot, and a broom. She also saw a note. It read:
“Congratulations! You are a witch. You have been invited to join Witch Academy!
From the Headmaster of Witch Academy”
Krystal had to go. All the potions and essentials she needed were already there. If she didn’t go, the headmaster might come to her house to take her. But if she went, everyone would discover that she was a witch!
So, the next day, she left her house without anyone noticing and joined Witch Academy. She left a note for her parents, saying that she was joining Fairy Academy, even though she was really going to Witch Academy.
When she reached the academy, the headmaster welcomed her and led her to her classroom. She saw lots of other students, but something wasn’t right. One girl had three eyes: two where they should be and one at the back of her head. Krystal also saw a boy placing his hands on his head and looking straight at her!
The headmaster explained that the boy could read minds. Then he pointed towards the girl with three eyes.
“This is Serah. You see, everyone has some kind of power,” he explained.
However, Krystal soon noticed a girl who had no powers or unusual skills, such as mind-reading. She was simply reading a book. Krystal thought she could go over and talk to her.
“Be careful! The class teacher has vampire teeth,” the headmaster warned.
He pointed towards a poor girl whose hand was bleeding because she had failed a test. The vampire-mouthed class teacher had bitten her as punishment for getting a failing grade.
Krystal greeted the teacher and sat next to the girl with no powers. They talked for a while and soon became friends. It turned out that the girl’s name was Joanne and that she was actually an undercover agent. She had come to Witch Academy to find out what life was like there.
Krystal had to share a dorm with two complete strangers. They were bullies. One of them had exceptionally good hearing, and her minions were ugly and had long noses. Krystal was constantly bullied by them, but she always had a good time with Joanne.
One day, as Krystal and Joanne were walking around the halls of Witch Academy, Krystal finally let out her inner struggles about her family being fairies and her being the only witch. Joanne listened carefully as Krystal explained how she had lied to her family and everyone else.
However, what they didn’t know was that the mean girl, Stacey, and her minions were watching them from a distance.
During class, Stacey overheard the truth about Joanne: she wasn’t actually a witch and had come to Witch Academy without her family knowing. Both Krystal and Joanne turned red with fear as they looked at the vampire teacher, who was ready to suck their blood.
Somehow, Joanne managed to convince the teacher that Stacey was the one who had been lying.
After class, Krystal and Joanne encountered Stacey, who stuck out her leg to make Krystal trip and fall.
Krystal: “What do you want?!”
Stacey: “Oops! Looks like you didn’t see my foot! Hee-hee-hee!”
Joanne persuaded Krystal not to talk back to Stacey and her minions. Otherwise, they might threaten them and cause trouble. After all, their teacher was a vampire who could bite anyone at any time.
The next day, Krystal saw Stacey on her way to shapeshifting class.
Stacey: “Oh, look, girls! It’s Krystal! Where’s your little lying friend?”
Krystal ignored them and kept walking. When she reached class, she sat next to Joanne.
Joanne: “You’re late. What happened?”
Krystal: “I saw Stacey. I’ll tell you later. We should…”
Joanne: “You’re right, but if any of Stacey’s friends get mad at us, they might get us moved.”
Krystal: “I’ll try to change my dorm and stay with you.”
“SILENCE!” the teacher interrupted, beginning the lesson.
After class, Krystal asked one of the managers to change her dorm. Fortunately, she got a dorm next to Joanne’s. Both girls were very happy about being close to each other. But, of course, Stacey and her minions wouldn’t stop being mean, and they joined their room, too.
Krystal and Joanne decided to talk to the teacher about the problem. The teacher called Stacey, Krystal, and Joanne into her office.
“We need to settle this at once,” she said.
First, she stared at the two girls and then at Stacey and her minions.
“Hmm… It seems…” the teacher began.
She then called in a grumpy-looking old man.
Teacher: “This is Mr. Fitch. He is the janitor, and he can detect who is lying.”
Mr. Fitch: “Grrr…”
Stacey: “What happens if Mr. Fitch detects who is lying?”
Teacher: “It’s Fitch, not Finch. He does not like people who say his name incorrectly!”
Mr. Fitch: “Grrr…” he growled, pointing at Stacey.
Teacher: “Looks like Stacey is lying.”
Stacey was about to ask what would happen to her when she noticed the teacher’s sharp fangs. She immediately realised what the teacher was going to do and made a run for it.
Krystal and Joanne whispered to each other, wondering what would happen next.
Krystal: “Stacey deserved that.”
Joanne: “I wonder what happens if Mr. Fitch catches her. Rumour has it that he is a werewolf.”
Krystal: “Hee-hee!”
“Okay, both of you, go to class,” said the teacher.
The next day, when Krystal woke up, the first thing she saw was Joanne’s terrified face.
Krystal: “What’s wrong, Joanne?”
Joanne: “Krystal… you have vampire teeth!”
Krystal: “WHAT?!”
Stacey immediately jumped up when she heard their screams.
Stacey: “[Gasp] What’s wrong?”
Krystal: “What?”
It seemed that Krystal had finally discovered her power: she had vampire teeth, just like the teacher!
After seeing this, Stacey had flashbacks of everything that had happened before, including how the teacher had almost bitten her. She quickly packed her things and begged the dorm manager to change her room.
That same day, as Krystal and Joanne were walking to potions class, everyone stopped and stared at them. Joanne heard someone whisper, “Rumour has it that she turned her friend into a vampire. That’s why she’s not scared of her!”
“THAT IS NOT TRUE!” Joanne shouted.
The two girls who had whispered looked at her awkwardly. Krystal urged Joanne to keep moving forward.
As soon as they reached class, the vampire teacher smiled.
Teacher: “Looks like you’ve got vampire teeth just like me!”
Krystal: “Yes, I do!”
After class, Krystal and Joanne headed to their dorm to watch TV. Joanne accidentally pressed the wrong button on the remote, and a programme called News About Witch Academy appeared on the screen.
Krystal and Joanne watched the news. This was what the reporter said:
Lady on the News Channel: “A girl of about fifteen years old has run away from her family because her entire family consists of fairies.”
Krystal: “Oh no! Everyone will find out that I ran away!”
Joanne: “I’m sure everything will be okay.”
Just then, they heard a knock on the door. It was Krystal’s parents!
Parents: “We heard the news. You can still live here. We will visit you once a week.”
Krystal hugged them tightly. After saying goodbye, her parents left.
Krystal and Joanne were happy together, and from then on, Krystal’s parents came to visit every week.
