I Am Too

Starry night, starry night, please give me some of your light. I am bright like you. I can touch
the moon.

Raven, raven, help me be brave, in this dark little cave. I am brave like you. I can touch the
moon.

Night dog, night dog, can you help me to be strong? Something feels wrong. I am strong like
you. I can touch the moon.

Fox in the mist, fox in the mist, help me feel confident. I am confident like you. I can touch the
moon.

Opossum, opossum, can you help me feel awesome? I am awesome like you too. I can touch
the moon.

Rising Sun, rising Sun, I can feel all of them. I am all of them, like you. We can be all of them
too!

Alexandra Bender is eight years old. She started writing because her school went on a field trip to see Peter Brown and her interests clicked. She thought it would be fun to write a poem. The reason she wrote “I Am Too” is for everyone to like themselves for who they are, and believe in themselves. Alexandra loves doing contortion and playing the violin. She has a cute dog and friendly turtle.
