Essay – Labour Day

Labour Day is celebrated on 1st May every year and it is all about saying “thank you” to people who work really hard every day. I think it’s a very important day because we often forget how much people who work do for us.

There are so many workers around us. The people who build our homes, clean our roads, drive autos and buses, deliver things to our houses, and even help in schools. If all these people stopped working even for one day, everything would become messy and difficult. Roads would be dirty, we wouldn’t get food or transport, and many things would stop working. That’s why I feel workers are like real-life heroes like Marvel heroes.

Some time back, workers had to work for many hours without proper rest and didn’t get paid well. It was very tough for them. So, they came together and asked for better working conditions, like fewer working hours, fair wages, and rest time. Slowly, things improved, and today workers have more rights and protection because of their efforts.

I think we should respect every worker, no matter what job they do. No work is big or small. Even saying a simple “thank you” or treating them kindly can make a big difference.

On Labour Day, many people get a holiday, and some places even have parades. But honestly, I feel we shouldn’t only remember workers on this one day. We should respect them every single day.

In the end, Labour Day reminds us that workers are the backbone of our country. Without them, life would not run smoothly at all. So we should always be kind and thankful to them.
