If I Had Wings for a Day
Up, up, and away I’d fly all day!
If I had wings for just one day,
I’d zip and zoom and fly away!
Over my house and over my school,
Flying high would be super cool!
Zoom in the sky, oh my, oh my!
I’d tickle the clouds so soft and white,
And hide behind them out of sight.
I’d flap my wings and twirl around,
Not touching the sleepy ground ever.
Flap, flap, flip what a sky-trip!
I’d race the birds and shout, “Hey, wait!”
“Flying with you feels just great!”
We’d make big circles in the blue,
Playing tag like good friends do.
Catch me if you can!
I’d look below and laugh with glee,
Cars like toys I’d barely see.
People walking teeny-tiny,
Everything below is so shiny!
Small below, big above!
I’d fly above the ocean wide,
Wave to the fish as they glide.
Maybe touch a rainbow bright,
Seven colours shining light!
Colours in the sky so high!
When the sun says, “Time for bed,”
And paints the sky all orange-red,
I’d slowly glide back down to land,
Touching softly with my hand.
Goodbye wings, but what a day!
Even when my wings are gone,
My happy heart will still fly on.
Because I know, and this is true
The sky keeps dreams for me and you!
Dream big. Fly high. Always try!
