A Genius Boy

This story is about a young boy named Kevin, who is known for being intelligent, well-behaved, and extremely smart. He always scores good marks in all his subjects, and everyone in his family appreciates his talent.

One week, Kevin’s parents planned a family trip and booked flight tickets. On the evening before the journey, Kevin accidentally took a piece of cake from the kitchen. His mother scolded him for this, and he felt very sad. Wanting to be alone, Kevin went to the car in the garage and started watching TV inside it while his family was busy preparing for their trip.

Early the next morning, the taxi arrived to take the family to the airport. In the rush and confusion, everyone got into the taxi—except Kevin, who was still sleeping inside the car in the garage. Without realising that he was missing, the family left for the airport.

After some time, Kevin woke up and stepped out of the garage. He searched for his parents and called out, “Mom! Dad! Are you there?” but no one answered. Soon, he understood that he had been left all alone in the house.

At first, Kevin felt shocked and confused, but slowly he became happy and excited. He realised he could enjoy his freedom. There was no one to scold him or tell him what to do. So he started doing things he always wanted to do. He prepared his own breakfast and began exploring the house.

Kevin was alone in the house, but instead of being afraid, he felt excited. For the first time, he could do whatever he wanted. He switched on the music and danced happily in the living room. He made his favourite breakfast and even prepared small snacks for himself.

Later, he explored every room, pretending he was the “owner” of the house. He watched his favourite shows, played games, and even organised a small party for himself with singing and dancing. Kevin also tried some new activities like drawing, cooking simple dishes, and decorating the house with colourful lights.

Although he enjoyed the freedom, he also started learning important things—how to take care of himself, keep the house clean, and stay responsible. He felt proud that he could manage things on his own. But somewhere in his heart, he began to miss his parents.

Meanwhile, at the airport, Kevin’s parents were shocked when they realised he was not with them. They panicked, cancelled their trip, and rushed back home as fast as they could.

Kevin was sitting near the window, wondering when his family would return. When he heard the sound of a car stopping outside, he ran to the door. The moment his parents saw him, they hugged him tightly. They apologised for accidentally leaving him behind, and Kevin too said sorry for his behaviour the previous night.

His mother was amazed to see how well he managed the house, and his father praised him for being brave and responsible. The whole family stayed together that day, spending time happily.

Kevin understood an important lesson: freedom is enjoyable, but a family’s love is the greatest comfort.

And from then on, Kevin became not just a genius boy in studies, but also a responsible and mature child who valued his family even more.
