Essay – My Best Friend
Everyone needs a best friend in life, someone who understands you, supports you and makes you laugh even on the worst days. For me, that special person is my best friend, Aarav. We have been best friends since the first grade and I can’t imagine school or life without him.
Aarav and I met on the very first day of school. We had recently shifted to Baroda and I didn’t have any friends. I was sitting alone during lunch, feeling nervous and shy. Aarav came up to me with a big smile and asked if I wanted to play paper football. From that moment we became friends and our friendship has only grown stronger over the years. What I didn’t knew that he and I stayed in the same locality and our buildings were next to each other.
What I like most about Aarav is that he is kind, funny and always ready to help. He never makes fun of others and always tries to include everyone in games and activities. Even when someone is sad or having a bad day, Aarav will find a way to cheer them up. He tells the funniest jokes and sometimes we both laugh so hard that our stomachs hurt!
Aarav is also very smart and good at studies. Whenever I struggle with a subject, especially maths which he explains it to me patiently. He doesn’t make me feel bad for not knowing something and that’s what makes him such a good friend. We often study together before exams and help each other with homework. We even have a deal that if one of us forgets to bring a notebook, the other one will share theirs without complaining.
One of our favourite things to do together is ride our bicycles around the neighbourhood. We imagine we are explorers on a mission and we come up with silly names for the places we find. We also love playing video games, watching superhero movies and collecting football cards. Aarav has the coolest collection, but he always shares it with me.
Sometimes we do fight, like all friends do. There was a time when we both wanted to be the team captain during a school game and we ended up arguing. But later, we talked it out and realized it wasn’t worth losing our friendship over something so small. That’s another great thing about Aarav—he always forgives and never holds a grudge.
Having a best friend like Aarav makes everything better. Whether it’s school, games, or family problems, I know I can always count on him. We have promised each other that even when we grow up and go to different schools or cities, we will stay in touch and always be best friends.
Aarav is not just my best friend, he’s like a brother to me. He brings joy, laughter and comfort into my life. I feel very lucky to have a friend like him and I hope everyone finds a best friend who makes life as fun and meaningful as Aarav does for me.
