The Hidden Village

Luke loved to explore new places, whether they were haunted, or even full of ‘Sunshine and Rainbows’. He always liked to meet new people, observe their cultures, and look at nature’s beauty. He hiked on mountains, explored through valleys and sailed through seas.

In the late Summers, Luke had travelled from North America, all the way to Australia. You see, there was a rumor, that there was an ancient, forgotten village, called “Maslonia”. No one had dared to check if the rumor was real or not, because that area was said to be inhabited by dangerous, wild animals, and the first, and only explorer to go there had passed away…

Luke was brave, and courageous, and so, he risked his life for something that wasn’t necessarily even true! His friends and family told him that, everything was made up however he believed in himself, and wanted to show people that there are many hidden gems on this beautiful planet earth, just waiting to be discovered.

On a sunny, beautiful morning, Luke had arrived to his desired place. Now he just had to figure out how exactly to find the village. He walked around everywhere, but couldn’t find the way. Just by luck, Luke opened up the column he had read about this unknown area, out of annoyance, and there he saw a small image, of a map… possibly of “Maslonia”. He immediately started to follow the map, determined to make a discovery that would shock everyone. He crossed a river, a massive valley, went over hills and through caves. After a whole day, he arrived near his destination. Luke was out of food, and water, and he was exhausted. Since it was mid-night, Luke slept in a nearby cave, and he planned to set out in the morning.

“Grrrr”, there was a low growl…. Luke immediately woke up to the sound, and anxiously started to look around. He stood up, as his heart dropped, and he froze in his steps. There was a large-sized grizzly bear standing up right in front of him. Luke slowly moved towards the exit, “N…nice bear…. stay right there”. The bear however, started advancing towards Luke, who froze in fear. That’s when the bear suddenly changed into a young man who burst into laughter. Confused, Luke asked, “Who are you…? And why are you laughing? Where are you from? Wait where did the bear go??” That’s when the man said, “I am Malus, the son of Chief Ladis, from Maslonia. About the bear, there was no such thing. My people and I, have different powers. Mine is transforming into any animal, and I can also sense good, or bad people. You seem like you were nice, and not here to harm anyone, instead you have come to explore. This is why I have revealed my true form, and I am welcoming you to the village.”   Luke looked shocked, he was welcomed to the very place he spent hours looking for, and he followed Malus joyfully.

It was a 30-minute walk to the village, but the pathway was absolutely breathtaking! There were soft, silky and vibrant flowers scattered around, small bunnies hopped around, there were tall mountains in a distance, and the trees had green, pink, yellow, red, and blue leaves. The path itself was well built, with see-through tiles under which tropical fishes were swimming in crystal clear water.

When they arrived to the village, Luke was created by little, smiling children who were playing and running around. The village was surrounded by trees, and has a sort of barrier around it, which made it hidden, no one could see it, except pure hearted people. “You can explore around, I will go to my father and get a room arranged for you, meet me here in an hour”, Malus instructed. Luke nodded and went on to explore.

He walked around, observing the happy people. He suddenly saw a huge building, which had a huge sign saying, “Magic Training Centre”. Intrigued, he entered the building, and saw kids practicing their magic. Some controlled water, some grew plants, others could read minds and a few had telekinesis, the ability to move things around with your mind. Luke was looking around, when suddenly an old man approached him, “Who are you? Are you here to train?” Luke replied, “My name is Luke, I am not from here and was welcomed by Malus.” “You’re a guest? Welcome, welcome! Come, come sit down!” The man smiled, “I’m the master here, the master of magic. I train the children from a young age so; they are prepared for anything when they are older.” Luke sat down with the master, and observed the kids closely. He was amazed by the skills of the little ones. After a while though, his stomach started to rumble, and he excused himself to go find something to eat.

He walked around for what felt like eternity, but at last he found a restaurant, selling things he had never seen before. There were rainbow burgers, huge, delicious pizzas and also weird drinks. Luke ordered a cloud burger, with a chocolate lava cake and juice. When his order came, he saw a floating, white burger. The patty was crispy, and tasted like chicken, but a hundred times better! He took a sip of his juice, which had an amazing sweet, and a little bit sour taste. It was made of a fruit called, “Marigna”, which only grew in the village, and needed a lot of care to be grown. After his meal, he cut open his lava cake, and glittery chocolate came out. He took a bite which melted like cotton candy in his mouth. The chocolate itself was hand-made by a special glittery cocoa bean, which was grown with plant magic, and was very rare. Since Luke was a guest, he was given buckets of the fruit and cocoa beans, however he didn’t have anywhere to store them. That’s when someone gave him a small bag, and told him everything would fit in. He did as told, and all of the things fit in the bag, not even changing the size. The bag could also make anything that included the stuff inside the bag.

An hour later, Luke met Malus who led him to the room arranged. The room was very clean, with a floating bed, and a beautiful view from the balcony. There was a whole jungle with lions, monkeys, snakes, tigers and many other animals, living together in peace.

The rest of the day, Luke explored the village and at night, he even joined the king’s feast, where there was delicious food, and different games were played such as catching the flying bunny. Everyone was so nice and welcoming, and Luke enjoyed his stay. He wished he could stay there forever but eventually; he had to go home. Malus, his new friend, gave him a small device and whispered, “Whenever you miss this place, press the button. It will teleport you back here. And I plead, never tell anyone about this place. Or else we will all be in danger. I’ll miss you!”

The next morning, Luke went home using the teleportation device Malus gave him. He loved his adventure and promised to return later, to his new friends.
