Emma’s First Flight

One day, a small bird, called Emma, was learning to fly. Her mother told her to flap her wings. But she was too scared. One day, her mother became very sick. She told to Emma, “Can you please bring me some water in this cup and a few sweet blackberries?” Emma said, “Mum, I don’t know how to fly!” “Please,” said her mother.

Emma told fine and left. She saw a few berries in the tree next to the river. Then she started flapping her wings a little bit, and she almost fell. Then again, she flew, and she realized she was in the middle of the air. The wind then pushed her, and she felt it much easier.

A lion came that way and told, “Emma, I’m so happy today, you learned to fly!” Emma said “thank you” and left. She then picked as many blackberries as she could. Then she flew next to the river and collected a few drops of water, and she flew a little higher. Emma saw an old owl. The owl said, “Dear Emma, good job, you’ve learned how to fly with your wings.” Emma said “thank you” again.

When she reached her nest, her mother said, “Thank you, Emma. I’m so happy you proved you can fly.” Emma gathered all the blackberries and said, “Mum, I’ve collected a lifetime of food.” She gave it to her mother and said, “I would do anything for you, mum.”
