The Secret Of The Starclaw

One sunny summer day, Ram and his friends went camping in Greenleaf Forest, a place full of tall trees and hidden trails. They were super excited to set up their tents and explore!

While hiking to their campsite, Ram spotted something zip through the trees—fast, like a shadow with legs! He stopped and squinted. “Did you guys see that?” he asked. His friends just laughed. “Ram, that’s just your brain playing tricks!” they said. But Ram wasn’t so sure.

Later, the group found a sparkly stream and decided to splash around. They put on their swimsuits and jumped in, giggling and racing each other. While floating, Ram saw it again—a quick blur darting between the bushes! It was too sneaky to be a squirrel or a bird. His heart thumped with excitement.

Ram climbed out, dried off, and tiptoed toward the bushes to investigate. His friend Bhim ran up, whispering, “I saw it too!” Together, they followed a trail of weird footprints. The prints looked like cow hooves but had sharp claw marks—super strange!

The tracks led to a big, leafy bush. Ram pushed the branches aside, and there it was—a creature like nothing they’d ever seen! It had a shiny black coat with tiny golden spots on its tail, like stars. Its face looked a bit like a lion’s, with big, curious eyes and long, floppy ears. Its feet were hooved but had claws, and it moved like a super sneaky cat. Even though it looked wild, it seemed friendly, tilting its head as if saying, “Hi!”

Ram and Bhim tried feeding it grass, but the creature just sniffed and shook its head. They sat with it, whispering about how cool it was. They decided to call it a “Starclaw” because of its sparkly tail.

Soon, their friends shouted for them, worried. Ram and Bhim raced back and told everyone about the Starclaw. “Come see it!” they begged. The whole group ran to the bush, but when they got there—poof! The creature was gone. No footprints, no nothing, just a plain old bush.

Their friends giggled. “You guys made it up!” they teased. Ram felt bummed, and Bhim frowned, but they knew what they saw. That night, by the campfire, Ram wrote all about the Starclaw in his notebook, drawing its funny ears and starry tail. He smiled, hoping he’d see it again someday.

Every time Ram visits Greenleaf Forest now, he looks for the Starclaw. Sometimes, he hears a rustle or sees a quick shadow, and he knows his secret friend is still out there, hiding in the trees.
