Story Review – What’s In It For Me ?
The author Sudha Murty had wrote thousands & thousands of stories & I love to read all of them. ‘What’s in it for me?’ is a terribly funny mouse story. Hope you’ll also like it.
Mushika, the mouse was passing by the street eating a juicy mango which fell down due to the heavy rain of the previous day. He saw a dry twig in front off him & took it up. Then he met a potter who couldn’t bake his pots for all the woods were wet & didn’t caught fire. Mushika have the twig to him & walked away with a pumpkin.
Marching forward he spotted a milkman whose cows weren’t giving milk. Mushika gave the pumpkin to him & took away with a cow. Going forward with the cow, he saw a wedding hall where there wasn’t milk to prepare kheer.
Mushika gave the cow to the groom. Later instead of eating the meal at his fill, asked for the bride. During the walk to Mushika’s house, the bride made many excuses for doing this & that ordered by the mouse.
Somehow the bride managed to call her pets, Ram & Shyam but Mushika had got escaped into his holes.
The moral of the story is that we must decrease our greed within us or else we’ll ourselves get trapped. The story is present in a book of Sudha Murty named ‘Grandma’s Bag of Stories’. Almost each & every story written by Sudha Murty are quite interesting & consists of moral values.
