Happy Ganesh Chaturthi

I said a prayer today
And I know Lord Ganesha heard
I felt the answer in my heart
Although he spoke no word

I didn’t ask for wealth or fame
I know he wouldn’t mind
I asked him to send me treasures
Of a far more lasting kind

I asked him for his blessings
At the start of every day
To grant me a good health
And family and friends to share my way

I asked for happiness for everybody
In all things big and small
But it was for his loving care
That I prayed most of all

So on this Ganesh Chaturthi
I called on his name
To pray for everybody
And to say Ganpati Bappa Morya
