The Mysterious Book That Spoke!
It was a spooky, cold night as Amy was making her way through the huge piles of snow to the library. As she was walking, she could hear her footsteps crunching the snow, while the chilly wind made the trees dance. The moon was glowing like a lightbulb, and Amy could hear all the night insects chirping as if they were having a dance concert. After a few more minutes in the freezing cold, Amy finally reached the library.
As she opened the door, she felt the warm air burst out, as it was very cozy inside the library. Amy settled down, picked up a fantasy book, and started reading it. She was exhausted, as she had a very long day at her uni.
When she started to read the book, something very strange and amazing happened. She heard a faint “Help…” sound. At first, Amy thought it was her imagination, but after a few more cries, the book had gotten her attention. Amy was speechless and shocked — she could not believe what she was seeing. The book had somehow spoken!
Amy decided to listen to what the book was trying to convey to her. As she listened, she understood why the book was crying for help. The book told Amy that there was a thief who harassed the book and its friends every night in the library by sneaking in. The thief even ripped up some of the books and took them to his house! The book requested Amy to stay the night in the library and catch the thief.
At first, Amy did not know what to do. She was stuck in a dilemma, as she had an exam at her uni the very next day. But Amy felt bad for the books — they were the ones who helped everybody by providing information. So even though she was reluctant, she decided to stay. Amy walked around the library, trying to find a hiding spot. Finally, she found a perfect one, covered by a whole shelf of books!
After some time, the last lights went off, as the library was officially closed. Amy was dozing off to sleep, wondering when this horrible thief would come.
It was around midnight when Amy heard a loud SCREEECH! Amy’s eyes flew open as she saw the thief had finally come. When she saw what the thief was doing, she jumped out of her hiding spot and shouted at the thief, “Get out of this library and stop harassing the books that provide us education!”
She grabbed a big book and threw it at the thief. He was bamboozled and startled. He quickly used his tools to open the library door and dashed outside as fast as lightning.
The whole library erupted in cheers for Amy. Every book came to life and thanked her for her brave and amazingly courageous act.
Amy felt so proud of herself. She was happy that she saved everyone’s education even though she had an exam tomorrow. As everybody was still cheering, Amy decided it was time for her to leave. She silently packed her bags as the book who had told her everything whispered, “Thank you!”
