My Trip To The Village
It was a hot summer day when I arrived in the village to visit my grandparents. I hadn’t seen them in the last couple of years and was looking forward to spending some quality time with them. As soon as I stepped off the bus, I was greeted by the familiar sights and sounds of the village.
My grandparents lived in an old family house which had huge terrace and a well in the backyard. The house is away from the main road. As I walked towards our house with my bags in tow, I noticed how everything seemed so peaceful and calm. The air was filled with the sweet scent of flowers, and the only sounds I could hear were birds chirping and the sound of a cow mooing.
When I arrived at the house, my grandma welcomed me with open arms. They were both so happy to see me and I spent the whole afternoon catching up on everything that had happened since they last saw each other. My grandma had prepared a delicious meal of Litti Choka which is my favourite along with yummy Malpua.
After lunch, we all had a siesta. In the evening my grandfather took me on a tour of the village. We walked through the narrow streets, and he introduced me to a lot of his friends. I could see a lot of things changed since my last visit. There was a new temple and a new school has been constructed.
As we walked, I felt a sense of peace and contentment that I had never experienced before. I realized that life in the village was much simpler and slower than in the city. There was no rush, no noise of cars and no stress. I felt truly happy and relaxed, surrounded by the love of my grandparents and the warmth of the village community.
I know that I would cherish this visit forever and that the memories would stay with me forever.
