Captive - Poem - Little Authors

Captive

Don’t you ever think of your flight.
In this condition?
The girl looked high upon the narrow walls,
World feels tight.
You worried about not getting a vacation?
They couldn’t get their education.
He came and pushed the plate,
forced the food down the pipe, does it bite?
Glaring he said, “Ay, A bold!”
Little did they know the food was cold.
What do you expect to grow from this land, scorched.
Till until you can pay your bills,
Turn a blind eye to the skin of your ankles, parched.
Buckets, buckets of water on the land on which you throw us in everyday to rot,
With not a single drop that goes down our throat.
Kudos to the mosquitoes who can cross these walls
What were you complaining about?
Not going to the mall?
