My Favourite Sports Person – Virat Kohli
When I think about my favourite sport cricket, one name always pops into my head ‘Virat Kohli’. For me he is not just a cricketer, he’s like a superhero with a bat. For me and for so many other kids my age, he’s a true inspiration.
Virat Kohli is famous for his amazing batting. He scores so many runs, and it always looks so easy when he does it. My dad says he’s a “run machine” and I totally agree! Whether it’s a T20 match where he hits big sixes or a Test match where he bats for a long, long time, he always seems to know how to get runs. I love watching him chase down big scores in one-day matches. It’s like he never gives up, even when it looks impossible. He runs so fast between the wickets too, which is super cool!. Everyone says that India has a chance of winning if Virat is still playing. My best game of Virat is the T20 match against Pakistan in 2022 where he single handedly made India win.
But Virat isn’t just about batting. He used to be the captain of the Indian team, and he was really good at that too. He’s always so energetic on the field, cheering his teammates and trying to make sure they win. Even when things are tough, he always looks determined. My dad says a good captain leads from the front, and Virat definitely does that. He’s very passionate, and you can see how much he loves playing for India.
What I admire most about Virat Kohli is his hard work and dedication. You can tell he practices a lot and always tries to be better. He’s also very fit, which shows how disciplined he is. My parents always tell me that if I want to be good at something, I need to work hard like Virat Kohli. He shows us that if you believe in yourself and never stop trying, you can achieve anything.
Virat Kohli is more than just a great cricketer, he is a role model for me because of his incredible batting, his leadership and his never-give-up attitude. I hope one day I can be as dedicated and successful as he is, whether it’s in sports or anything else I choose to do. He truly is my cricket hero!
