Captain Biscuit and the Great Coconut Disaster

My name is Captain Biscuit.

I am the youngest pirate captain in the Seven-and-a-Half Seas. (Don’t ask about the half sea. Long story. Involves a walrus and a really big bucket.)

I’m 14 years old, but I’ve been a pirate for… uh… 14 years minus one month. My parents said I was “born for adventure” but honestly I think they just wanted me out of the house because I kept trying to ride the washing machine like a horse.

Anyway, this is the story of The Great Coconut Disaster, my first and worst (so far) adventure.

It all started when my crew and I. Okay maybe, “crew” is a fancy word for my two best friends, Smelly Pete and One-Tooth Tina. We all landed on an island to find treasure. The map said “X marks the spot” but there was no X. Instead, there was a coconut tree.

“No problem,” I said confidently. “We’ll just climb it.”

What I didn’t say to them was that I’m terrified of heights. And trees. And squirrels.

But a captain must be brave. So I climbed up. And climbed. And climbed. And realized the coconut tree was so tall it probably touched the moon.

Then… I slipped.
And fell.
And landed… not on the ground… but in a GIANT pile of coconuts.

The coconuts rolled down the hill. I rolled with them. We rolled straight into the pirate ship. And somehow, don’t ask me how, the coconuts catapulted me off the deck, straight into the ocean.

Smelly Pete yelled, “Captain overboard!”
One-Tooth Tina yelled, “Save the coconuts!”

(I’m starting to think they like coconuts more than me.)

When I finally climbed back on board (completely soaked, smelling like fish soup), I discovered something terrible:

The treasure chest we’d been using to store biscuits (the food, not me) had floated away.

And that’s why my pirate name is Captain Biscuit because the only treasure I’ve ever lost is a box of soggy biscuits.

Moral of the story?

Never trust a map without an X.
Never climb a tree without glue on your hands.
And NEVER go treasure hunting with friends who like coconuts more than you.
