The Boy and the Magic Pencil
Once upon a time in a town of Sonapur, a boy named Karan discovered a magical pencil hidden in his grandfather’s old wooden box. The pencil was shiny with multiple colours, along with the pencil was an old tattered notebook. The notebook was empty with only a small note at the bottom of the first page : “Choose wisely”
Karan didn’t understand the meaning of the note. He took the pencil anyway and sat in a corner of the room. Bored with nothing to do, he drew a butterfly and right in front of his eyes, the butterfly lifted off the page and fluttered around the room!
Karan was amazed. He drew a robot and it jumped up, saluted him, and started cleaning the room ! Everything he drew came to life, flowers that danced, a mini dinosaur that roared playfully and even a trampoline that bounced by itself! Everything popped out of the page, real and alive. He soon realised that he had the power to change the world. He started helping people by drawing food for the poor and planting trees in the park.
But someone else had heard about the pencil.
His name was Zorak, a cruel old magician who had lost his powers years ago. The pencil belonged to him which Karan’s grandfather had taken from him. He wanted the magical pencil to bring back his dark army and take over the world. He watched Karan from the shadows and waited for the right moment.
One night, Zorak snuck into Karan’s house and stole the pencil.
The next morning, Karan woke up to find the town in chaos. Giant monsters were stomping through the streets. Dark clouds covered the sky. Zorak had drawn an army of evil creatures and taken over Sonapur.
Karan was scared, but he didn’t give up. He remembered something his grandfather once told him: “True magic lives in the courage of the heart.” With no time to waste, Karan grabbed a blank sheet of paper and whispered a wish with all his might. As he drew a simple pencil using his regular one, a spark of light burst from the page and the drawing began to glow. In front of his eyes he saw the magic pencil once again.
Karan drew a shining knight, a team of brave animals and a shield made of light. With them, he charged into the battle. There was fire, lightning and even flying chairs! But Karan and his creations fought bravely.
At the final moment, Karan drew a giant eraser in the sky. It zoomed down and erased Zorak’s dark army. Then, Karan drew a cage around the evil magician so he could never harm anyone again.
Peace returned to Sonapur, Karan returned the magical pencil to its wooden box and hid it deep underground.
He had learned that power is not about what you can do, but what you choose to do.
