The Haunted Hotel
It was a snowy evening in Atlanta, the weather forecast predicted snow for the next few days. Four friends Max, Alex, Joe and Shyam felt bored to be hustled in their small apartment for the rest of the week. Shyam suggested “let’s go to California and spend time with our friends there, its nice weather in California” Max reacted “but it’s a long drive”. Joe was up for the drive and volunteered to drive. Alex was also playing game. Soon they packed their bags and started the trip. They played their favorite game of Minecraft together on the way, while taking turns to drive.
It was almost close to sunset and they remembered that they had to drive through the jungle. Alex was super hungry and wanted to take break and have a meal. Joe found a pizza shop near a gas station. They filled gas and had a sumptuous meal of Pizza watching the baseball match on TV. It got dark and Shyam insisted that they start soon. They started their journey through the woods. It was a silent drive; Max was at the wheels. There was barely any traffic on the road. It started raining and visibility became low. They were not able to see any sign boards. The power in their gadgets also got drained with the Minecraft game on their way. In the rush to start none of them packed charging adaptor in the car as well.
Max suggested “guys, lets pull over until the rain stops and then drive”
Alex said “Seriously Max? we are in the woods now and I don’t want to be eaten by a bear. Please keep moving.”
Shyam made fun of Alex “Come on Alex, the bear would never have a bland meal like you! Ha ha…” when Alex was about to grab Max, Joe intervened – “guys, please grow up, let’s see what we can do to get out of here”.“Joe’s right” said Max, “let’s find if there is a place to stay nearby and spend the night there”.
Everyone agreed. As they were talking, the car stumbled and croaked and came to a halt. It refused to start despite Max’s best efforts. The rain stopped by then. All four of them jumped out and tried to see what the problem was, but was not able to figure out. They decided to walk and see if some help is available. When they walked a few steps, they saw a small hotel with a board “guests are welcome”. They were pleasantly surprised to see a hotel in the middle of the forest and decided to spend the night there.
Max said, “let’s bring our car here and rest for the night. Maybe someone here can help fix the car”. Alex said “Max, that’s a good idea. Let’s do that” Shyam said “guys am too tired to push the car. I will stay here” Oh Shyam, you cannot escape this, come on buddy,” said Joe. All 4 of them pushed the car to the hotel and were panting now after this exercise. Shyam was eager to hit the bed and went first to knock the door. There was an old lady with a black-eyed cat in the reception. Max explained that their car was not starting and that they would need to spend the night in the hotel. The old lady said nothing, but just nodded her head. Joe went to check out the rooms and felt that it was a little creepy. However, he did not tell anything to his friends.
They were all tired a got knocked off as soon as they went to the room. It was just past midnight; Joe woke up with a start as if from a bad dream. He heard noises from the place where their car was parked. He gathered courage and marched to the window to check what is happening. He was shocked to see a girl sitting on the garden swing and playing with a toy. The girl saw him coming and called him to play with him… he was shocked and his mouth ran dry, no voice was coming out. Joe ran back to the room and woke up everyone.
Alex babbled in his half sleep and Shyam said “Joe, stop dreaming, who can play in the middle of the night! Go back to your sleep”. Joe was screaming now and dragged Shyam and Alex to the window. At once all their sleep was gone, they saw a little girl like figure in the garden playing with a toy. The girl saw the three of them and started giggling. Shyam shouted “Gosh, this is not an illusion – Boys pack your bags, let’s get out of here” Max woke up hearing all this hustle and was wondering what it was about. Before he got a chance to ask, three of them grabbed their bags, tagged Max and were running to the corridor to the lift lobby. To their surprise, the placed looked different, lights were blinking, huge bats were dangling from the ceiling, spiders were crawling around. Ahhh… screamed Max. Everyone hushed up Max and rushed to the elevator. The door closed once they hopped on to the elevator and before they could press the button, it started moving up and up… they counted floors 40, 50, 60, and it went on till 80th floor where it stopped with a bang. It seemed a big dark room with weapons; it looked like a small cheap hotel from outside and none of them ever thought that it had so many floors.
Startled, they tried to hit the ground floor and were desperate to leave the place. The lift started, but to their misery, it got stuck when it reached the 60th floor. All 4 shivered the darkness and started screaming for help. Alex gathered some courage and started feeling the lift to see if there is anything that he can use to get them out. Everyone jump…. said Alex. They jumped with full power. The door stopped at 37th floor. It looked like a maze.it was dark. Joe said he has a torchlight. Shyam asked how do you have a torch Man? Joe said I brought it from the home. Shyam asked why you packed a torch instead of charging adaptor. Joe said the torch was for emergency. Shyam said Well in that case charging adaptor is also important.
Shyam was about to grab Joe Max intervened – “guys, please stop fighting, let’s see what we can do to get out of here”. After a few steps the boys saw a massive fan which started blowing automatically they got blown away by the fan they saw a massive hole behind them the boys panicked and was almost about to fall Shyam yelled there are ropes hanging let’s use it to escape from here. Joe said let’s turn off the fan. They saw a button which said off and one more button which said open the boys were confused Max pressed both the buttons the big fan disappeared and a long corridor was there at the back of the fan. The boys went to check what is there. And they found a room in the end of the corridor. The boys were scared to open the door. Joe said let’s all open the door at the count of 3,2,1 open…. They found a box Shyam and Max were nervous to open the box. But they opened it. They were slowly opening the box. Max screamed when he saw a skeleton inside the box. It started moving and suddenly it got life.it started to attack them with strong laser beams.
However, the boys escaped from the beams. Alex told guys take the hammers. Shyam asked how did you got these hammers. I took it from the 80th floor these hammers are for our protection. Max told this is not the time to talk. Quick! Let’s fight the skeleton. The skeleton was blabbering angrily. They were confused about what the skeleton was saying about. But the boys clearly understood that it is very angry. And the friends started fighting against the skeleton. Finally, Max, Joe, Alex and Shyam attacked the skeleton’s skull. They found an Old paper which was inside the skeleton’s eye. And they saw some lines which were looking like path.
After reading this. The boys were scared. Alex started to cry. Everyone calmed down Alex. They saw some letter sticking in the wall. It said use the old paper to open the wall. They open the wall. There were random things in the like desk, chair, bookshelves with no books, water cans, cups, beds, pirate posters. They heard thunder noises from outside they thought it was raining outside. But it wasn’t coming from outside. It was coming from the floor below them. They saw a note written near the door to the next room. The note said “Find the key to go to the next room”. They started searching the key everywhere they were very tired so they slept in the room. It was 7am in the morning. They saw the key on top of the desk. The boys look closely it is written has danger. They checked the map were they were. They found that behind the door poison gas was there. The boys panicked. Max asked everyone” Guys what should we do”. Shyam told “Hey guys look over there are 4 kerchief lying on the bed “. Each took one kerchief. They wear the kerchief like a mask.
Finally, Joe opened the door. It was very foggy and green in color. They were standing in the same place. Slowly the fog is going out of the room. They found that it wasn’t a room it was a corridor. The door closed slam shut. Behind they saw a little girl with her toy. They scream and ran in the corridor. It got dark the light started blinking. They all panicked and fainted. Suddenly it started getting cold. They all woke up. Joe told “It is very cold here and the floor is very slippery. Max had a brilliant idea “Hey guys can we skate”! While they were skating they saw blood mark. They saw giant Zombie and Big jail door. Alex had an idea of how to keep the zombie in the jail. Alex told the plan to everyone and they agreed. Alex banged the zombie leg with the hammer. Alex ran and went to the jail opening. The zombie sprinted towards Alex. Alex moved from the jail opening. The zombie fell inside the jail opening. The zombie fell inside the jail. They all locked the door and ran away.
They finally found boat shed. They made a boat together and finally escaped from the hotel. They saw an island and landed over there.
