The Happy Ball Chase
Once upon a time, in a cozy house with a big yard, four fluffy dogs Max, Bella, Rocky, and Luna who lived with their owner, Mr. Sam. Mr. Sam was super strict and never let them play outside the yard, but he gave them yummy food and tons of fun toys. The dogs loved their shiny new balls and felt proud of their fancy home.
One sunny day, the four dogs were tossing a brand-new red ball in the yard, barking and chasing it with glee. A scruffy stray dog named Rusty peeked through the fence. He’d never played with a ball before and thought, Wow, that looks so fun! Maybe I can join them! With a wagging tail, he trotted over and asked, “Hey, can I play with you?”
Max puffed up his chest. “No way! You’re a stray, and our master wouldn’t like it!” Bella added, “This is our new ball. You can’t touch it!” Rocky and Luna barked, “Go away, you can’t play with us!” Poor Rusty’s ears drooped. He shuffled off and sat under a tree, looking sad.
Just then, another stray dog, Sparky, bounced over. “Why so glum, Rusty?” he asked. Rusty told him about the mean dogs and their shiny ball. Sparky grinned. “Don’t worry! Look what I found!” He dug up an old, muddy ball from behind a bush. “Let’s play!” The two strays ran around, tossing the ball and laughing, their tails wagging like crazy.
The next day, Mr. Sam took Max, Bella, Rocky, and Luna to a big field to play. They tossed their new red ball, but—whoops!—it rolled into a ditch and disappeared! The four dogs searched but couldn’t find it. Then they spotted Rusty and Sparky nearby, happily playing with their old ball, barking and tumbling in the grass.
Feeling a bit silly, Max led the group over. “Um, Rusty, Sparky, we’re sorry about yesterday,” he said. “Can we play with you?” Rusty’s eyes sparkled. “Sure!” Sparky yipped, “Come join the fun!” The six dogs chased the old ball together, rolling in the dirt and giggling like best friends.
Mr. Sam watched from a bench, amazed at how happy his dogs looked. Sharing makes everyone happier! He thought. From that day on, he let his dogs play with Rusty and Sparky in the field. He even brought extra treats to share with the strays. The six dogs became the best of pals, chasing balls and spreading joy wherever they went!
