An Adventurous Journey
Once upon a time, in a village far away from the forest, lived two friends. Their names were Aayra and Hritika. They both adored the forest and the adventures deep inside it.
Then one hot summer day, full of boredom, they agreed to ask their parents for permission to go trekking inside the forest. They pleaded with their mother and father, and unexpectedly… their parents said, “You are mature enough to go now.”
They both met outside the forest and squealed with joy. Each had brought a bag with food, water, and other supplies. Then they slowly entered the forest. They took many photos, and deep inside the forest they came face-to-face with a poisonous snake. They screamed and ran very fast.
They only stopped when they reached a clearing with a beautiful river. They sat down to rest and fill up their bottles. Then, suddenly, when they walked toward the river, they noticed something strange—the water in the river was bubbling. Then they saw something out of the corner of their eye. It was a small object on the water.
When they walked towards it, they realized it was a small boat. They figured that the real adventure had begun. They climbed onto the boat, and suddenly the boat started moving on its own. They were shocked. They understood that the boat was magic but were still surprised. After a while they started enjoying themselves. They even sang, “Row, row, row your boat.”
But then, the boat came to a sudden stop. They thought they had reached wherever the boat wanted to take them, but when they looked ahead, Hritika stared speechlessly and Aayra let out a gasp. There was a waterfall straight ahead.
They tried to talk to the boat and tell it to take them back, but nothing happened. Then suddenly, some monstrous-looking creatures emerged from the water and started pushing the ship toward land. They were scared and thought the creatures were leading them into a trap. When they reached land, they quickly got off. Even though they were scared, they didn’t have much of a choice.
They saw a tall man with a wand standing in front of them. They thought he was a wizard and shrieked with fear. He quickly understood and said, “My name is Fergus, and I am a friendly wizard.”
They smiled and said, “All the things we saw till now were scary, so we thought you were too.”
He said, “I assure you I am very friendly. And those creepy creatures in the water—no offence,” he added, turning to the creatures. The creatures grumbled. “They are friendly too.”
The two girls understood and then asked about the boat. Fergus explained that the trolls and fairies were at war, and the trolls had managed to steal one of the fairies’ wands and curse the fairy boats before the fairies got the wand back. Hritika and Aayra were the first to ride the boats after the curse, which is why they were affected by it.
The girls understood and then asked if Fergus could help them get back to the clearing, as they no longer had the boat. He said yes, and also said that he would tell the fairies what had happened and help them fix their boats.
He took them to the clearing. They thanked him and asked if they would see him again.
He said, “Maybe.”
They said bye and walked home safely.
