The Lion That Sprang to Life

Once in a quiet village, there lived four friends. Three of them were very smart and had studied in big schools. They read many books, knew magic spells and loved to show off their knowledge. The fourth friend was not as educated. He hadn’t studied much, but he had something special, he had common sense. He always thought carefully before doing anything.

One day, the three scholars decided to go on a journey to show the world how clever they were. They invited their fourth friend to come along, though they didn’t think he was as smart as them.

After walking for many days, the friends entered a big forest. The trees were tall and the forest was full of sounds with birds chirping, leaves rustling and monkeys swinging through the trees. As they walked deeper into the forest, they saw a pile of large bones on the ground. The bones were very old and dusty.

The scholars quickly figured out that the bones belonged to a lion. Excited to use their magical knowledge, they decided to bring the lion back to life. One of them planned to rebuild the skeleton, the second would cover it with flesh and skin and the third would use a spell to make it alive again.

The fourth friend felt something was wrong. He didn’t think it was a good idea to bring a wild lion back to life. But the other three were too excited and didn’t listen to him. So, the fourth friend quietly climbed up a tall tree nearby and waited.

Soon, the first scholar used his skills to put the bones together. The second added flesh and a mane, turning it into a lifelike lion. Finally, the third scholar used his magic to bring the lion to life.

In a flash the lion stood up, shook its body and let out a huge roar. It looked around with wild eyes and saw the three scholars who were busy celebrating bring the lion to life. The lion then pounced on the three scholars and killed them.

From the safety of the tree, the fourth friend watched everything in shock. He felt sad for his friends, but he knew they had made a terrible mistake. After the lion walked away into the jungle, the fourth friend carefully climbed down and walked home alone.

Moral – Common sense is more valuable than book knowledge.
