The Hermit And The Mouse

Once upon a time, there lived a kind and wise hermit in a forest. He spent his days praying, meditating, and helping animals.

One day, while sitting outside his hut, the hermit saw a tiny mouse running for its life. A cat was chasing it!

Feeling pity, the hermit quickly used his magic powers to turn the mouse into a cat, so it could protect itself.

Now the little mouse, who was now a cat, was safe and happy.

But soon, a dog began chasing the cat.

The kind hermit saw this too and said,
“Poor creature! You are still in danger.”
And he used his magic again to turn the cat into a dog.

The dog was happy and proud. But trouble wasn’t over yet.

Soon, a tiger in the jungle growled at the dog. Once again, the hermit felt sorry and turned the dog into a powerful tiger.

Now the little mouse had become the king of the jungle.

But something changed.

The tiger began to look at the hermit with suspicion and pride. He thought,
“This hermit knows my secret. What if he turns me back into a mouse? I should kill him before he does that!”

But the wise hermit read his thoughts. He shook his head sadly and said,
“You ungrateful creature! I helped you at every step, and now you want to harm me?”

At once, the hermit waved his hand and turned the tiger back into a mouse.

The mouse squeaked and ran into the bushes, never to be seen again.

Moral – An ungrateful person should not be given too much power. Kindness should be shown wisely.
