The Flea And The Bug
Once upon a time, in a grand palace, there lived a bug hidden inside the royal bed. Every night, when the king went to sleep, the bug would quietly crawl out and sip the king’s blood — just a little, so the king wouldn’t notice.
One day, a flea flew into the palace and landed on the royal bed. The bug spotted him and said,
“Hey! This is my home. You can’t just land here and bite the king!”
The flea replied,
“Oh, don’t worry. I just want one quick bite. Then I’ll be gone!”
The bug warned him,
“No! You have to be very careful. The king must not feel a thing. I wait until he’s deeply asleep before I even begin.”
But the flea was impatient and proud.
He said, “I know what I’m doing!”
And without waiting, he jumped and bit the king hard.
The king woke up at once, scratched himself, and shouted:
“Ah! Something bit me! Guards!”
The bug quickly hid in the corner of the bed, but the flea couldn’t escape in time. The guards came, searched the bed, and found the flea.
Without delay, they killed the flea.
The bug, hidden and safe, sighed in relief.
