The Crow And The Snake
Once upon a time, in a quiet forest, there lived a pair of crows in a tall, leafy tree. They were happy and excited because they were going to become parents. The crow couple built a warm nest and laid a few tiny, white eggs.
But danger lurked nearby.
At the base of the same tree, hidden in a dark hole, lived a cruel black snake. One day, while the crows were away searching for food, the snake slithered up the tree and ate all the eggs.
When the crows returned and saw the empty nest, they were heartbroken.
“Oh no! Our babies!” cried the mother crow.
“That evil snake!” said the father crow, angrily.
They felt helpless. They were birds and the snake was strong and deadly.
Still, they tried again. After some time, they laid more eggs, hoping the snake wouldn’t come back. But once again, the snake ate their eggs.
This happened again and again.
Finally, the father crow flew to his friend, the wise jackal, who lived nearby. He shared their sorrow and said,
“We can’t fight the snake, he’s too dangerous. What should we do?”
The jackal thought for a moment and then smiled.
“You don’t need strength to win. You need a smart plan. Do as I say…”
The next day, the crow flew to the royal palace, where the queen was bathing in a garden pool. Nearby, her maids had laid out her clothes and jewelry.
Quietly, the crow swooped down and picked up a shiny gold necklace with his beak. The guards saw him and shouted “Stop that bird! He’s stealing the queen’s necklace!”
The crow flew as fast as he could straight to the snake’s tree.
He dropped the necklace into the snake’s hole and flew away to a nearby branch to watch.
Soon, the guards arrived. They saw the necklace in the hole and when they tried to retrieve it, the angry snake hissed and lunged at them.
The guards, protecting themselves, killed the snake with their spears and took back the necklace.
The crow couple was finally safe.
After that day, they lived peacefully in their tree and raised many healthy baby crows without fear.
