Essay – My Favourite Sport Cricket
Out of all the sports in the world, cricket is my most favourite. It is not just a game for me, it’s something I enjoy doing every day. Cricket makes me happy, excited and also teaches me many valuable lessons. I love both playing it with my friends and watching it on TV with my family.
I began playing cricket when I was 7 years old. At first, I didn’t know much, but I slowly learnt how to hold the bat properly and how to bowl straight. My elder brother taught me many tricks. Now, I am good at batting and also enjoy wicketkeeping. Every evening, I play cricket with my colony friends in the ground behind our house. We even made our own team and gave it a cool name “Super Strikers”!
My favourite cricketer is Virat Kohli. I like him because he plays with full energy and never gives up. He inspires me to work hard. I also like MS Dhoni because he is calm and smart. I have seen many exciting matches where India won in the last over and they are always so thrilling to watch. One of my favourite memories is watching India win the World Cup with my family. We were all jumping and shouting with joy!
I like T20 the most because it’s fast and fun. My favourite tournament is the IPL, it’s so exciting to watch different teams play with star players from all over the world. My favourite team in IPL is Chennai Super Kings and I cheer loudly when they play!
Cricket is not just about winning. It teaches us discipline, sportsmanship, teamwork and respect. Sometimes we win, sometimes we lose. But every match is a learning experience. When I lose a game, I don’t get angry. I try to learn what I can do better next time.
Playing cricket also keeps me healthy and strong. It helps me stay active and reduces stress. I feel fresh and happy after playing. It is also a great way to make new friends and have fun.
In conclusion, cricket is my favourite sport because it brings joy, teaches values and gives me hope for my future. I love cricket and will always love it – no matter what!
