Essay – Great People Of India
India has had many great people who did amazing things for our country. One of them is Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose. He was born in Cuttack, Odisha, on January 23, 1897. He was super smart and got fourth place in a big exam in London called the I.C.S. But he loved India so much that he came back to help fight for our freedom. People remember him for his bravery and strong will.
Another great person is Swami Vivekananda. He was a religious leader who was born on January 12, 1863, in Kolkata. He went to college at Presidency College and was so wise that he was chosen to speak in America about Hinduism. People from all over the world listened to him talk about our religion!
Then there was Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar, who was born on September 26, 1820, in a village in Bengal. His family didn’t have a lot of money, but they were respected, and he was so smart that he got the name “Vidyasagar,” which means “Ocean of Knowledge,” because he knew so much about Sanskrit. He also fought against child marriage, which was very brave.
Finally, we have Rabindranath Tagore. He was born on May 7, 1861, in Kolkata. His family was rich, so he studied at home, and he became an amazing poet and writer. He wrote stories, plays, poems, and even songs. His book Gitanjali won the Nobel Prize in 1913, making him the first Asian to win it!
These people did such important things for India and the world, and we remember them because they inspire us to be brave, wise, and creative.
